New Blackwood exhibition emphasizes transformation and healing

Ongoing world events are impacting many members of our community. While the theme of this exhibit is meant to highlight the journey from injury to healing, the visuals may provoke a wide range of responses.

On Oct. 25, faculty, librarians and staff will receive an invitation by email with the title “U of T UniForum Service Effectiveness Survey,” with a link to access the survey online. The two-part survey focuses on key services that include finance, human resources, facilities management, student support, teaching support, research support and information technology. Patricipants will be randomly selected to complete either part 1 or part 2 of the survey. Email the UniForum@UofT team at uniforum@utoronto.ca.
Snider Lecture available until Nov. 11
The 2023 Snider Lecture Committee presentation of the award-winning documentary The Woman Who Loves Giraffes, followed by an exclusive Q&A with zoologist and U of T alumna Anne Innis Dagg is available online on-demand on Vimeo until Nov. 11. Learn more
UTM Honey now on sale
UTM Honey is now available at Hospitality & Ancillary Service (HAS) office, Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed 1 to 2 p.m.). HAS oversees five beehives on campus, with approximately 50,000 bees in each hive. Harvested honey is also used by campus food services.
A not-for-profit program, the honey is sold at cost: $8/250g jar and $14/500g jar. The office, in the William G. Davis building, Suite 3127, accepts debit and credit. Learn more

Black Research Network offers IGNITE grants
The Black Research Network (BRN) has launched the third edition of the IGNITE grant for the 2023/2024 academic year. The grant supports interdisciplinary research led by Black faculty, librarians, post-doctoral scholars, clinical scientists and medical research fellows/residents at the University of Toronto. It offers between $5,000 to $10,000 towards professional development, research dissemination and other types of research support within the limits of eligible expenses. UTM adds fun to fundraising for United Way
United Way Greater Toronto invests approximately $6 million each month in more than 300 community agencies, to drive lasting solutions to poverty. Faculty members, librarians, and staff have received a personalized donation link to their U of T email. Contact assistance@uwgt.org to have your link resent.
Parking Pass raffle:
The UTM Parking office has donated an annual pass (valued at $837.60) for raffle, with all proceeds going to the UW. Purchase tickets ($5 each, three for $10 or seven for $20) here. Deadline is Nov. 15.
