  • Global and Community Engagement Conference Registration
    • Register to attend the Global and Community Engagement Conference on Saturday, October 14 to learn about what your peers are doing at Michigan Tech and around the world. 
    • The Global and Community Engagement Conference is a dialogue and celebration of our efforts to solve issues that confront communities in need.  
    • All students, faculty, and staff are welcome.
    • It is free plus a free lunch provided.
  • The Natural Resource Career Fair will be held on Tuesday October 17th from 10am-2pm in the Atrium and surrounding hallways of the UJ Noblet (Forestry) building.

  • Call for Peace Corps Prep Certificates
    • The deadline for submitting Peace Corps Prep exit checklists for this semester is Friday, October 20, 2023.
    • If you think you have completed the Peace Corps Prep Certificate requirements, contact Professor Henquinet kbhenqui@mtu.edu for the checklist and return it to her by that date.  
  • Finals and Registration information in available now
    • The Fall Final Exam Schedule is available.
    • The Spring/Summer 2024 Priority Registration Schedule is available.
      • Meet with your advisor before your registration time to discuss any questions you have about spring and summer courses. 
  • AISES Powwow
    • You are invited to join the American Indian Science and Engineering Society at Michigan Technological University on November 4th at the Gates Tennis Center.
    • Doors will open at 10AM for you all to browse our craft vendors with the powwow scheduled to start at noon. We will break for a traditional feast at 4PM with a second grand entry to follow around 6PM.
Upcoming Conferences, Webinars, and Talks
  • The Vernacular Architecture Forum is coming to Michigan Tech!
    • Consider submitting your work to present a paper or a poster at the annual meeting of the VAF on June 12 – June 15, 2024, which is being hosted in the Social Sciences Department next year.
    • Volunteers will be needed. Even if you don’t submit a paper, please consider volunteering to help during the cultural landscape tours on June 13-14. Social Sciences students who volunteer for the conference can attend the conference for free! Look for more info in the Spring. 
    • Students and emerging professionals may apply for the Pamela H. Simpson Presenter’s Fellowships, which offer support of up to $1000 for presenting papers and posters at VAF’s annual conference.

  • Houghton Co. Historical Society Seeks Researchers and Caption Writers
    • The HCSC installed a number of new exhibits and interpretive signs on their property in Lake Linden, and their next project is going to be a photo book using about 65 photos from our collection of 13,000.
    • They are looking for people who like to do research and are willing to write captions for the photos.
