Here’s just a taste of what is happening in and around Florence this November:
Rassegna dell’Olio Extravergine d’Oliva di Reggello is the celebration of this year’s olive harvest and pressing of the new oil. You will have to make the trip to Reggello for this event, but if you are an olive oil lover it is a must!
The anniversary of the great flood of 1966 is on November 4th - this is a somber remembrance and is usually recognized with ceremonies in Piazza Signoria as well as in the most hard hit neighborhoods of Florence.
The Florence Marathon is on November 26th this year - you can either plan to be in town to watch, or outside of Florence for the whole day - but don’t try to travel around (other than by foot) or do much else in the center as the city is pretty paralyzed by the event, and driving is nearly impossible!
And of course as the weather cools and the chance of rain increases there is no better time to visit the churches and museums of Florence.
