Dear Friend,

As Board President of the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation, and a long time resident of Santa Barbara, I’m grateful to live in a community that values the Library as an essential service. It is through the generosity and passion of supporters like yourself that we can continue to build a true 21st century Library.

I have had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of the Library since the Foundation's first campaign to rebuild the Children's Library. This initiative was not just about constructing a physical space but about growing a love for reading and learning in the hearts and minds of children. The impact that the completion of this project has had on the families of Santa Barbara is a testament to what is possible when we join together for the good of our community.

The social and economic impact of Libraries extends far beyond the walls of the buildings themselves. Libraries are not just places for books; they are civic spaces and community centers that offer access to vital information, technology, and education. I believe we need to recognize our Libraries as critical infrastructure and see Library funding as an investment in the future of Santa Barbara and our community.
