The Forsyth County Transportation Summit was held on Oct. 31 and gave residents, stakeholders and business leaders the opportunity to hear directly from leaders and decision makers about the future of transportation in Forsyth County.

You’re Invited to the Animal Shelter’s Family Fun Day on Nov. 18


To celebrate the start of the annual Home for the Holidays adoption promotion that waives all adoption fees for shelter pets, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter is hosting a Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18. 


The event will feature free Rabies vaccinations and microchipping for county residents, free hot dogs and drinks, a bounce house and so much more!

How to Give Back to Your Community This Holiday Season


Make the season brighter for residents of Forsyth County this holiday season with holiday giving programs from Senior Services and the Fire Department! 


Give an older adult a gift to open through the Gift Angels program, contribute to an elder’s home repair or give the gift of a warm meal through the Meal Certificate program.  


The Forsyth County Fire Department is asking for residents’ help in gathering new and unwrapped toys, gift cards, and new or gently used coats for local children in need through Aerial’s House.

Forsyth County Asking for Residents to Give Input on Transportation Plan


Forsyth County is seeking public input on its Comprehensive Transportation Plan, which serves as the guide for future transportation needs and priorities, project implementation and action plan as well as projected project cost.

Fire Department’s Trunk or Treat Brings Residents Together to Celebrate Halloween


Spooky season might be over, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy checking out photos from the Fire Department’s Trunk or Treat event.  


Over 2,000 friendly faces participated in the event, wearing all sorts of costumes and handing out candy. Go to the Fire Department’s Facebook page to see more.

Stop by the Forsyth County Animal Shelter (4065 County Way) to adopt an animal for FREE this holiday season.  

Holiday Concert – Sunday, Dec. 3

Bring friends and family to ring in holiday cheer at a sing-along event.  

A Dickens Christmas – Friday, Dec. 8

Based on “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, this musical entertainment will be performed by talented local youth.  

Christmas with Santa – Saturday, Dec. 9

Decorate a cookie, prepare a snack for Santa’s reindeer and create an ornament. Don’t forget to see Santa on your way out! 

Special Needs Santa Visit – Saturday, Dec. 9

Santa is making a special visit to hear what children of all abilities would like for Christmas this year. Pre-registration for this event is required. 

Handmade for the Holidays – Saturday, Dec. 16

Stop by the second annual holiday craft market to pick up a homemade gift.
