ALT Follow-Up

The 2023 Trek had 8 people & 2 dogs enjoy 25 miles on the ALT

Wild Foods Potluck Weekend had 17 people stop by.  The menu had venison, elk, buffalo, ramps, apples, cranberries, milkweed, sassafras and more!

November  Volunteering Opportunities

The ALT volunteering will be going virtual for the next few months as hunting season, holidays and winter approach.

What does Virtual Volunteering look like you ask?

Attending zoom calls, participating in surveys and giving us feedback! We’d love to hear from you about what you liked, what we could do better and would like to see in 2024.

HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out and volunteered this year.  From Oct 1, 2022 - Oct 1, 2023 WVSTA recorded 4,327 volunteer hours (we are still waiting on a few to arrive) and had 81 different people help - those are new 2 records !!!

Off Trail

The ALT has been participating in new meetings pertaining to trails. We have also been working on outreach / partnering with other groups that already promote us.

One such group is the Mon Forest Towns- of which the ALT already passes through or within a few miles of 7 of their 12 towns.

Check out their website and give them a like on Instagram and Facebook.  We will be working closely with them in 2024 on various projects.

- Nov 14 at 6pm is the next WVSTA board meeting.  Members will get a zoom link in their email 24hrs ahead of time.

- Nov 20- Dec 31 WV Gun Hunting season for deer/ bear where “blaze orange” is encouraged on the ALT.  Check the button below for a full list of WV hunting regulations county by county.
