University Housing earns housing industry attention
University Housing recently garnered two mentions in the Talking Stick, a publication by the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I). The first story focuses on the importance of considering how people use and perceive spaces (furniture, colors, light/lighting, etc.) in interior design. In the article, the architect involved in the renovations of both Russell and Brumby explains how our close attention to space and how students engage in spaces is contributing to student success.
The second article spotlights Black-Diallo-Miller Hall, noting that its success has made it a template for Building 2266, opening on Lumpkin Street in fall of 2026.

Get involved in the UGA Mentor Program
The UGA Mentor Program, the University's first comprehensive mentorship initiative, is a digital platform which allows students to form mentoring relationships and/or schedule 15-30 minute Quick Chats (formerly known as informational interviews) with UGA Mentors (faculty, staff, and alumni), regardless of geographic location, who can help make their future a little clearer.
Mentorship is proven to help students succeed in their personal, academic, and professional endeavors. With our busy schedules, it can be hard to know where to start, but just 1-2 hours a month can change the trajectory of a students life.
Our personalized mentoring experience allows you to connect with students no matter your location and on your schedule. If you’re not sure where to start, there are guidelines, icebreakers, and other resources on this site to guide you along the way.
