Leadership - Patricia’s years of professional leadership and management experience are what the city needs right now to help us move forward and get things done for the people of Burien.
Collaboration - Patricia is a person of action with extensive experience bringing people together to make policies that work. She is ready to work with all members of the council and our community.
Public Safety - Patricia knows that public safety is about more than just police. On council, she will increase public safety by supporting programs that address the root causes leading people to crimes of poverty and survival. She will support our police force by championing community based response teams and programs that take the pressure off police to be the “one size fits all” answer to public safety.
Climate - Patricia appreciates the connection between climate change and all other issues we face. She commits to considering environmental impacts of every decision made on council and listening to experts to guide all city work.
Affordable Housing - Patricia understands the need for housing availability based on income to keep residents stably housed. She will champion zoning changes and work to strengthen programs that incentivize building.
Emergency Preparedness - Patricia will work to ensure the city has a plan to keep residents safe before, during and after an emergency or natural disaster.
Regional Focus - Patricia will work with regional partners at all levels, finding ways to best leverage our limited resources and bring much needed services to our residents.
Infrastructure - Patricia commits to working to provide safe, walkable streets for kids, seniors, and people with disabilities. She will work to address our failing infrastructure.
Life Experience - Patricia knows the difficulties families face trying to survive in today’s economy. She will be a voice of experience and bring her personal lived knowledge of what working families need to thrive.
