COLLEGE STUDENT INTERN JUMPS RIGHT IN
MEET ASHLEY TOWNEND
Social Work Student and Legislative Intern

Meet Ashley Townend, a heartfelt and passionate advocate for making a positive difference in various aspects of life and others' lives. Her journey is marked by a diverse background and a genuine desire to contribute positively to the community and world she lives in. With an extensive experience of roles, Ashley has excelled as an artist, entrepreneur, program coordinator, social and mental health advocate, and administrator. Her wealth of experience has been the driving force behind her commitment to creating a better world.

Currently, Ashley is pursuing her education at Boise State University to become a licensed Social Worker in Idaho.

As my intern in her senior year, she has been working on legislation with me while also putting her theater background to good use by helping to produce the "Pro-Voice Project" and organize "Walking Steven Home," both very successful public events.

As a social work student, she understands the importance of empowering others to advocate for themselves and their communities. Throughout this internship, she aims to gain the skills necessary to shape and design policies that foster greater self-determination and to assist in humanizing complex policy issues through a human-centered approach.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ashley finds immense joy in camping adventures with her husband and two dogs. When not exploring the great outdoors, you can catch her on the soccer field. Ashley strives for unwavering dedication to making a meaningful impact in her community and the lives of others through her artistry, advocacy work, and her commitment to promoting social well-being.

SUPPORT MY STUDENT INTERN PROGRAM
WITH A DONATION

It's important to pay interns for their work while providing mentoring and guidance. It's a win-win situation for me and for students.  I created this program early in my legislative career because I am committed to involve students and involve them in their government.

Please help support interns with a donation!

November 7 is Voting Day

If you live in Boise, the most important election for our city's success is a week away.

It has been an honor to work with Mayor McLean over the last four years; she is focused on more affordable places for us to live, public safety, and protecting our human rights and basic freedoms. Our city needs her now more than ever!

I hope you join me in the final stretch for Get Out The Vote to help make sure we turn out voters in this election, sign up for a couple shifts and join me on the doors!

BLUE WAVE IN NORTHERN IDAHO

I took a trip up north with legislators from the House and Senate to visit with constituents, businesses, tribal members, community partners, and candidates. We need Democratic leadership in every part of the state, and we are committed to restoring balance and reason to our legislature. We won't rest until we have quality leaders, not extremists, working on behalf of working families.

Have a Spook-tacular Halloween!
