MEET ASHLEY TOWNEND
Social Work Student and Legislative Intern
Meet Ashley Townend, a heartfelt and passionate advocate for making a positive difference in various aspects of life and others' lives. Her journey is marked by a diverse background and a genuine desire to contribute positively to the community and world she lives in. With an extensive experience of roles, Ashley has excelled as an artist, entrepreneur, program coordinator, social and mental health advocate, and administrator. Her wealth of experience has been the driving force behind her commitment to creating a better world.
Currently, Ashley is pursuing her education at Boise State University to become a licensed Social Worker in Idaho.
As my intern in her senior year, she has been working on legislation with me while also putting her theater background to good use by helping to produce the "Pro-Voice Project" and organize "Walking Steven Home," both very successful public events.
As a social work student, she understands the importance of empowering others to advocate for themselves and their communities. Throughout this internship, she aims to gain the skills necessary to shape and design policies that foster greater self-determination and to assist in humanizing complex policy issues through a human-centered approach.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ashley finds immense joy in camping adventures with her husband and two dogs. When not exploring the great outdoors, you can catch her on the soccer field. Ashley strives for unwavering dedication to making a meaningful impact in her community and the lives of others through her artistry, advocacy work, and her commitment to promoting social well-being.
