FREE Center Event November 15

The Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at The Ohio State University is excited to announce the creation of the Center for Feminist Research, Education and Engagement (FREE Center)! The FREE Center will be a hub for community engaged feminist research and teaching that brings together people from across the university and community.

Supported by a generous five-year $500,000 grant from the Office of Academic Affairs, the Center aims to inspire, generate, and support collaborative research and community engagement projects rooted in feminist approaches and perspectives. We further aim to implement educational and community engagement initiatives in collaboration with a multidisciplinary collective of campus and community partners. The Center’s mission is to deepen and broaden the large feminist community already at OSU by strengthening relations between WGSS faculty and affiliated faculty and extending our work and community engagement more meaningfully to the public.

We invite colleagues across all departments and disciplines at Ohio State to join us at the STEAM Factory on November 15 at 3:30pm for a FREE Center STEAM Exchange Event. Come dream with us as we exchange ideas to foster collaborative feminist research, share current work and goals, and build community. Join us in launching the FREE Center and set its direction for the inaugural year and beyond.

Let’s imagine together what FREE can be.
