Porch Party Reminder

Join us for our November Porch Party at Andy Burns' house on Friday, Nov. 17 from 6 - 8 p.m. at 1103 Bryan Street. Please bring a dish to share. BYOB.

Interested in hosting a porch party? Email the board with your name, address and preferred month. The parties are potluck; hosts need only provide whatever food and drink they'd like, a place for people to gather, and (preferably) restroom access. We'll connect you with our Porch Party Captain, Bart Tittle, to help with coordination.

Lumos Fiber Update

The City, Dominion Energy, and the utility marking company met with Lumos Fiber yesterday.

Lumos Fiber will not be permitted to resume excavation & digging work until it submits a thorough plan for review. This plan will have to be approved by Fire Chief Jenkins and City Council.

On Friday, Columbia Fire Department will be sending out their hazmat team to do a survey of a nine-block area in Elmwood Park where the excavations have been occurring. They will be using natural gas detection equipment to try to spot leaks.

We will continue to keep the neighborhood updated as we learn more.
