We had two very pleasant days at the November History Exploration event at the MO History Museum this past Friday and Saturday, promoting active citizenship to people who stopped by the Civitas booth. Many thanks to all of the Civitas volunteers who helped!

Resolutions due by 12:00 tonight for HSMUN Sessions A & B!
The first Model UN sessions for high school students are this Saturday! We are busy getting everything prepared, so please help us out by signing up if you haven't already AND getting resolutions emailed to Stephanie (gavinstephanie89@gmail.com) by midnight tonight. Resolutions can be viewed on the Civitas website as we get them added to the Master Copy for each session. It's always a good idea for delegates to review resolutions in advance, if time allows. Knowing the specific topics that will be discussed at your session can help you prepare for asking questions, suggesting amendments, and voting on Saturday.
The signup form for both events this Saturday will be closed Thursday afternoon so final preparations can be done on Friday by the Civitas staff. If students arrive on Saturday who have not signed up, they will need to wait and see if there will be room for them in the auditorium before participating. We've had unprecedented numbers of schools and students interested in Model UN this fall, which is fantastic. However, the auditorium only has a certain number of seats.
The Model UN signup form will be reopened on Sunday for Session C delegates to continue signing up.

Session B begins at 1:30 pm on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Meet a real UN Peacekeeper on January 27, 2024!
Civitas has scheduled its first event for 2024 on Saturday, January 27 from 10:00 am until noon at Crossroads College Preparatory School. We are pleased to have Roel Harryvan, a former UN Peacekeeper through the Royal Netherlands Army, scheduled to talk to students. Roel and his family have lived in St. Louis since 1995 so Roel could be the Honorary Consul for the Netherlands, his home country, covering Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. Join us to hear Roel talk about all of his adventures, both as a UN Peacekeeper and as an Honorary Consul. Roel will share updates of current UN Peacekeeping endeavors and answer any questions you have about his past and current experiences working to bridge cultures and foster peace.
