Families,
We are excited to continue our “resource-share” series with you.
Amy Franks, School and Family Engagement Associate Director, and Alisa Miller, Family Engagement Manager, had the opportunity to partner with Mercedes McCurley of DPS Foundation to participate in a "work and play" at Burton Magnet Elementary School's community garden. The garden provides a safe way for children to play while caregivers are in community with one another to talk, and share information, resources, and support around their children's educational needs through gardening. Families get to know each other and build connections with the community. Book Harvest is happy to be a part of the gardening experience providing information about Book Harvest and literacy support.
Book Harvest is dedicated to meeting families where they are.
If you are a family-serving organization in Durham and would like a member of our team to attend one of your events, contact Alisa@bookharvest.org. We'd love to come out to share and support.
The School & Family Engagement Team,
Amy, Alisa, Anneke, Gia, Gisela, & Emma
