Empower English Language Learners with the Ellevation Math Supplemental Program

The Idaho Department of Education, in partnership with Ellevation, is offering a free resource designed to empower English Learners (EL) by developing academic language and key concepts for the math classroom. Ellevation Math is a supplementary program that helps teachers provide access to rich language support, allowing students to fully participate in the classroom. Districts in Idaho can opt in to primers that build academic language, background knowledge and problem-solving skills. The resources are designed to enable student agency with rigorous content that promotes academic language development while saving teachers time and allowing district leaders to seamlessly monitor student progress. For more information on opting into this free program, contact Ellevation Education's Adam Howard.

Your Feedback Needed: Report Card Stakeholder Survey Now Open

The Idaho Department of Education is currently seeking a new platform for its annual Report Card. The new platform will meet ESSA requirements and will be better tailored to meet the needs of Idaho's educational stakeholders.

For the next several months, the department will be developing a request for proposal (RFP) for a new report card vendor. We invite you to complete a short, 5-minute survey at the button below to let us know what you would like from an ESSA-compliant statewide report card. Your answers are anonymous. No survey questions are required, though we hope you will respond to all. The survey will close on November 24, 2023.

Following the survey collection, the department will convene stakeholder groups to review survey results. Your survey input help will guide the RFP process and system used to rate potential vendors. To learn more about participating in a stakeholder group, please add your contact information to the end of the survey. For questions, please contact Ayaka Nukui at anukui@sde.idaho.gov
