Created by a Grandma living with a stoma, Santina has written and illustrated 'Grandmas new bottom' to help children understand stoma surgery.

Make it a Happy Christmas for everyone.

Travel, staying with family and navigating the festive fare can all be daunting prospects for people living with stomas. Our stoma helpline 0800 328 4257 and Facebook support group are available 24/7 throughout the year.

Please donate here so we can continue to be there when we're needed on Christmas Day and every day.

Stoma and Diabetes

"I have been a specialist stoma nurse for three years, and prior to this I worked in general practice for six years. My role in general practice was supporting patients with long term conditions, mainly diabetes.

In my clinical setting I often review established ostomates who are developing other health complications. One of the most common is type 2 diabetes, which is a condition that is on the increase in the UK. I am often asked about the best ways to manage the two diets as the advice can be contradictory"

Specialist stoma nurse, Tammy Temple has written an engaging piece that aims to help those maintain a healthy diet when living with both diabetes and stoma(s). You can read it
