Please join us for a solemn and reflective Remembrance Day event on Saturday, November 11th, starting at 10:30 am at Pen Pen Cemetery. We'll gather to honour and remember those who have made tremendous sacrifices for our freedom. Indigenous Business Excellence Award

Congratulations to Carrie Leonard and Sun Ridge Contracting for being the recipient of Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc sponsored Indigenous Business Excellence Award at the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce 2023 Business Excellence Awards. And congratulations to the fellow nominees, Simpcw Resources and Tk’emlúps Petro Canada.

CER Community Engagement Session

Next CER session is November 15! Tk̓emlúps Members are invited to participate in Community Engagement Sessions to Discuss Updates to the TteS Custom Election Regulations (CER). A Vote to Amend the CER will take place at a GBM in the new year. All meetings will be 5pm - 8pm in the Assembly Hall at Chief Louis Center. Dinner will be served.

TteS STaff Naloxone Training

Kukwstép-kucw to Rachel from TteS Community Services, and Bailey, Heather and Penny from Interior Health Authority, who provided TteS staff naloxone training. Sweláps Market Grand Opening

A NIGHT OF SONGS AND STORIES

The Indigenous Connections team at Kamloops Alliance Church are honoured to present "A Night Of Songs And Stories" that highlights Indigenous voices that will bring perspective, hope, and healing. Special guest is Artist and Storyteller, Howard Jolly. The night will also feature a Panel from the Indigenous Connections Team at Kamloops Alliance Church sharing their efforts and initiatives around reconciliation work and what we see as the way forward.

This is a night for Indigenous and non-Indigenous as we seek to build bridges and cast hope for a brighter future together.

Venue: Moccasin Square Garden, Kamloops, BC

MCFC Engagement Sessions

The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) invites you to join upcoming engagement sessions to co-develop a new provincial service approach for children and youth with support needs and their families. These 2-hour, virtual sessions are open to all interested First Nations Rights and Titleholders to co-develop a new provincial service approach for children and youth with support needs and their families.

Engagement will begin with ‘Sharing your vision’ in October, and then proceed through the remaining topics. The timing and number of sessions per area of focus will vary depending on the needs and interests of participants. Engagement on these topics will continue through June 2024.

K̓wséltkten Kristmas

K̓wséltkten Farmers & Artisans Market is calling on makers, bakers and growers to be part of our 3rd K̓wséltkten Kristmas. Date is Sunday, November 12th at the Coast Kamloops Hotel & Conference Centre. Market hours are from 10 am to 5 pm.

As there is a limited number of booths, vendor spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Please email Tina at kwseltkten@cfdcofcifn.com or phone at 250-214-2436 for further information. Vendors need to have their application completed, sent in, and fees paid BEFORE they are considered as registered.

IPTP Course

The Indigenous Pre-Cadet Training Program (IPTP) offers Canadian Indigenous people, between the ages of 19 and 29, an opportunity to experience a modified three-week Depot training experience within the RCMP at the RCMP Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. Applications for the Spring 2024 session will close on December 15, 2023.

Notice of Planned Power Outage

This outage is necessary for essential maintenance work to be carried out, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Team BC & 2024 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships

The 2024 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC) will be hosted in Grande Prairie, Alberta, from May 6-12, 2024, at the Design Works Centre. This championship event is a significant platform for elite U18 Indigenous hockey players and the only national tournament that showcases and celebrates the top male and female Indigenous hockey talents from across Canada. Team BC will be represented by both male and female teams, featuring the best U18 players from the province. To select players for Team BC, a Player Selection Camp will be held in Prince George, BC, from April 5-7, 2024, where U18 hockey players of Indigenous ancestry can participate and be evaluated. Online registration for the camp will open on January 15, 2024.

Youth Substance Use Counselling & Treatment Services will support youth youth aged 12-24 who are seeking treatment for moderate to severe substance use in their community. GIS/GPS Mapping Foundations

This course introduces learners to the foundational knowledge necessary for pursuing a career in Global Information System (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) mapping, including skills development in data gathering and map customization, GIS analysis and modelling, and project plan development. From this course, learners can ladder into our Futures-level GIS/GPS mapping course which provides career-ready professional skills and certifications.

Coffee with a Cop

Please note NEW location: Community Services, 300 Chilcotin Road

On Wednesday, December 6 at 10:00 am, Community Services (300 Chilcotin Road) will host our monthly Coffee with a Cop. This gathering aims to foster a better understanding between Tk̓emlúps RCMP and community members. The casual setting of the event will offer a chance to engage in conversations over coffee and tea. The organizers hope that this initiative will further strengthen the relationship between the police and the community. Everyone is welcome to attend, and we look forward to seeing you there!
