MAGA Is Hurtings Our Military and Democracy

Even some Republicans are now realizing that MAGA extremists are hurting our military and democracy.

They are upset that Senator Tommy Tuberville, MAGA extraordinaire, continues to place holds on military promotions.

GOP Senators including Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Lindsay Graham (R-SC), and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) are blasting Tuberville’s holds. Romney says the holds are, “an abuse of the powers we have as senators.”

Tuberville’s Holds Are Consistent with the MAGA Modus Operandi

Tuberville’s action is typical of MAGA, which is not interested in effective government. MAGA’s priorities are sowing chaos and battling “cultural wars.” It does not put the best interests of America, or our military first. MAGA politicians will not follow normal democratic norms as evidenced by Tuberville’s foolish holds and the January 6 coup attempt.

Florida MAGA Politicians Stand with Tuberville

We’re not surprised that other MAGA politicians support Tuberville’s holds. Among them are Florida’s governor and Florida Senator Rick Scott

GOP is the MAGA Party

Reflecting a horrible trend, the GOP has now elected a MAGA theocrat and science denier Speaker of the House.

MAGA Hurts People and Tolerates Criminality

If you are not convinced MAGA is more concerned with advancing its wacko ideology than good governance, then consider this headline. Florida fails to ask for federal funds to help poor people buy solar panels. In a state with a MAGA governor and a MAGA supermajority legislature, it’s clear that advancing their political ideology is more important than using government to help people.

MAGA represents poor governance and a perverted ideology.  For example, DeSantis says he’ll support Trump even if the MAGA leader is a convicted criminal. Their ideology has consequences, since Mike Johnson was elected Speaker, the House has voted to slash 39% of the budget of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and 13% of the budget of the National Park Service.

Wake Up Veterans

When will our fellow veterans wake up to the damage and threat to our democracy and military by the MAGA movement?

As  veterans, we know that those denied promotion by Tuberville’s holds are hurt by MAGA’s foolishness.
