December 2023

Each year in December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities promotes the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. Learn more and explore disability resources at the U of M.
A couple of things on our radar this month:

Celebrating: the 2023-2024 Women's Center award and grant recipients. Head over to Instagram to see our profiles of the winners (we'll be sharing through the month of December), or view the full list here.

Sharing: the upcoming Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time policy, which goes into effect on January 1st. The new policy allows for full, part-time, temp, and student employees working in Minnesota to take paid time off to not only deal with illness for themselves, family, or a close non-family but also to deal with emergencies including seeking assistance to deal with domestic violence or stalking and closures of schools or childcare.

Reading: a recent publication by our colleagues in the Center for Women in Medicine & Science: Intersectionality and COVID-19: Academic Medicine Faculty's Lived Experiences of Well-Being, Workload, and Productivity During the Pandemic

As always, you can always catch up with us on Instagram and Twitter / X (@mnwomenscenter) in between newsletter editions.
