from 11am - 5pm today, Saturday November 11th! Due to weather, we are set up both outside and inside the church and Decatur Makers.
We also have parking available in the upper lot!
Over 20 Vendors will fill these spaces, along with your favorite family-friendly maker activities.

Community Outreach
Partnering with Decatur Library again, we'll host Dare to Repair Cafe on November 14th! If you're a member who would like to Volunteer your skills, please see the Sign Up Genius. If you're a library patron interested in having something repaired, please contact Decatur Library!

Youth Outreach
Youth Build Club had a blast with Hovercrafts! These middle school kids first built and decorated their own prototypes from balloons, CDs, and dish soap nozzles. Then they raced Decatur Maker Member made Hovercrafts. One cool kid brought in a surprise. Their own kid sized plywood and leaf blower hovercraft, that everyone took turns riding across the floor. It was an awesome club day!

Thank you to our local Decatur Walmart, at 3580 Memorial Drive, for supporting Youth Build Club! Decatur Makers received a $500 grant from store 3710 to directly support the learning fun of middle schoolers. Youth Build Club is free and open to all kids ages 9-14. The club meets once a month to explore a STEAM project.
Walmart Store 3710 is Youth Build Club's very first sponsor and we are so grateful for their support to continue this wonderful program!

Maker Spotlight
10 yrs ago, I started the Atlanta Science Festival and an awesome guy, Jeff started volunteering for us. This spring, I saw him in the parking lot of the First Christian Church where we rent office space and asked why he was there in the ASF off-season. He told me he was in the Makers. I had just joined myself so I could make a Little Free Library that I had a very ambitious plan for and no clue how to make. So I boldly asked if he’d help me on the project. He didn’t know what he was getting into when he said yes, but in over many making sessions together, I now not only have a Little Free Library (with a living roof!), but also a great friend.
