Snowshoe Lacing Workshop at Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center

WASHBURN, N.D. – When the sparkle of fresh fallen snow entices you to explore the great outdoors this winter, a pair of hand-laced snowshoes will grant you that freedom.

Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn will host a snowshoe lacing workshop Saturday, Jan. 27, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Learn the lacing pattern to complete your own pair of snowshoes in this hands-on workshop led by seasoned instructors. Work at your own pace to finish at least one snowshoe in class and be confident enough with the lacing pattern to continue at home if necessary.

The workshop is geared for those 16 and up. The cost is $175 plus taxes and fees and covers the snowshoe kit and instruction. Water and coffee will be available. Lunch will not be provided, and participants should bring a sack lunch or order from a nearby restaurant.

Registration for the workshop is required by Wednesday, Dec. 27, and can be accessed at snowshoe-workshop.eventbrite.com. Space is limited.

For more information, contact Ashli Laducer at 701.462.8535. The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan State Historic Site are managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. The Interpretive Center is open Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Fort Mandan State Historic Site is open for guided tours that leave the Interpretive Center.
