First LTER Community Call—Intro to the LTER |
In January, we will kickoff a new series of LTER community calls with an LTER Network Orientation. LTER Community Calls are scheduled for every fourth Wednesday at 9 a.m. Pacific Time (10 a.m. MT / 11 a.m. CT / Noon ET)
Our January call will be an orientation to the sites, science, and structure of the LTER Network as well as ways to connect with colleagues and get involved. It will be most appropriate for investigators, students, and staff who are new to the network, but all are welcome.
Register for the first talk below, and find out more about how to stay up to date with our Community Calls. | |

Announcing the LTER Community Forum |
We’ve had a lot of uptake since announcing this last newsletter, but would love to see more folks get on the platform.
The heart of the LTERnet community forum is peer-to-peer exchanges. Have a question? Or an opportunity? Yearning for connection? Choose a category, add a few relevant tags and a clear title–and ask your question. We’ll walk you through all the mechanics. |

Around the Network |
Katherine Suding of the Niwot Ridge LTER received the 2023 Journal of Ecology’s Eminent Ecologist award. She penned a blog post, sat down for an interview, and compiled a virtual issue in the journal. Congratulations, we know it’s well deserved!
Check out the Jornada’s Postdoc Lightning Talks for a great overview of their research agenda! |

Community Forum Posts of the Month |
A new section following the launch of our Community Forum, containing select posts that you may have missed each month. We’re toying with the best way to bring this information to our network, but for now, the section lives here. As always, let us know what you think! |
Our newsletter only goes out once a month. That doesn’t always let us promote events or jobs at the most effective time. The Community Forum this month was a constant stream of events and jobs—be sure to sign up to stay informed! |
|
We’re still on social media, of course. Check us out at the links below, and remember that we also have a Mastodon and BlueSky page. |
