Fairness coming for gig workers
App-based ride-hailing and food-delivery gig workers will soon have better working conditions with new protections, including basic employment standards.

New standardized designs will help build more homes quicker
Homeowners and builders will soon be able to develop new housing quicker and with less cost as the province works to create new standardized designs for small-scale, multi-unit homes, such as townhomes, triplexes and laneway homes.
Through the new Standardized Housing Design Project, the Province is creating new standardized, customizable residential designs for small-scale, multi-unit housing built on single lots.
The move follows the recent introduction of legislation that, when passed, will allow three to four units on land currently zoned for single-family homes and duplexes, and as many as six units near bus stops with frequent transit service.

Government taking action to protect communities against hate, violence
The province is taking action against hate-motivated violence in British Columbia by supporting community organizations throughout the province and by providing resources to individuals.
The province will be offering a specific anti-hate community support fund for organizations impacted by acts of hate including vandalism, while rolling out the racist incident helpline, which will help strategically target further government resources to combat hate.
The new anti-hate community support fund will be provided to organizations such as places of worship, cultural community centres and at-risk groups, including the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, for security equipment, graffiti removal and repairs to damaged property as part of community efforts to respond to hate-motivated crimes.
