Last chance to encourage students to enter big data/AI competition
Registration closes Friday (Nov. 24) at noon for the University of Toronto's fifth annual 2023-2024 IMI BIGDataAIHUB Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Competition, featuring $25,000 in prizes.
Entry to the competition is free and open to graduate students and undergrads with big data/AI experience from any academic discipline in any year of their academic career at the University of Toronto. Learn more
Road closure Friday to aid parking deck repairs
Part of Outer Circle from the Collegeway to the P4 Deck entrance will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday (Nov. 24) for crane delivery and set up, in order to address the damage at the P4 Deck Lower Level entrance. Please use the North or Middle entrances to come onto campus during the crane set up. Work is set to conclude by 5 p.m.

Three new team members are joining the Office of the Vice-Principal, Research. Lubna Abu-Jazar isUTM’s New Science Building Research Facilities Manager, She will oversee the day-to-day operational needs for the New Science Building core and research spaces (set to open in early 2024), provide training for users, and oversee safety protocols. Jonathan Hersh, SpinUp’s new Program Coordinator, will join on Dec. 11 to will develop and promote entrepreneurship programming.
On Jan. 3, 2024, Shaun Young will join the team as Manager of Research Administration and Operations, to establish strategic, operational, and programmatic direction for current and future flagship research initiatives.
