Whether you are searching for the perfect Christmas tree or wreath, browsing for gifts and cards, or simply want to enjoy a warm drink and food in our cosy café, you'll find plenty to delight you at Riverside this Christmas season.

Christmas trees have arrived!
Our full selection of cut and pot grown Christmas trees is now available and ready for you to peruse!
In cut trees this year we have the ever popular 'non-drop' Nordmann Fir, the traditional Norway Spruce with its distinctive scent of Christmas and the narrower Fraser Fir. Our live, pot grown trees this year are Blue Spruce, Nordmann Fir and two sizes of Norway Spruce.
Our pot grown trees are truly pot grown, which means that each has been grown from a young seedling in its own special pot that allows its roots to extend out into the soil of the field in which it is grown, making for a strong and vigorous tree. After several years the pot is lifted and the excess roots snipped, and the tree is then ready to be sold and to find its way into your home.
All our trees come in a range of prices, heights and shapes, but get in early to have the widest choice!

Christmas tree care
Cut trees
Keep your tree outdoors until you are ready to put it up. Your tree will require water to help it stay fresh and green throughout the festive period, so make sure you have a stand that can hold water (and keep this topped up!). To help the tree take up as much water as possible you may wish to saw off the first few centimetres of the trunk before placing it in its stand.
Pot grown trees
Water it well when you get home, and when you bring it indoors make sure you keep the soil moist (don’t forget to place the pot in something to hold excess water). After the festive period take your tree back outside. You can keep it as a potted tree, potting it on as it grows, or can plant it out in your garden.

Deck the halls
At Riverside we love decorating for Christmas! This year we have gone for a Mediterranean feel outdoors, with illuminated olive trees and a 'chandelier' made of natural materials. In the shop and café the cosy feel carries on, with lights festooning the ceilings and tempting displays around every corner.
To help you decorate your Christmas tree and home we have a beautiful array of decorations on sale, made from sustainable materials like paper, glass and felt. New to us this year is a range of gardening themed decorations, including little sheds, greenhouses and welly boots. We also have new designs from Amica Felt, whose fair trade, handmade creations are always a hit with customers and staff alike.
Our hand decorated wreaths are also on sale, as well as plain wreaths that you can decorate yourself. We also have wreath decorating kits to help you kickstart your creativity! You will also find our festive potted arrangements, planted up right here at Riverside, perfect for brightening up your doorstep this season.

Mince pies and mulled wine
Don't forget - during weekends in December we will have complimentary mince pies and mulled wine available in our Christmas tree area, as well as a lucky dip for children. Our festive gift to you!

Gift giving inspiration
We want to help you find the perfect presents for your loved ones this Christmas. In our indoor and outdoor area displays you will find specially selected gifts for gardeners, including tools, books and beautiful plant pots, plus little treats like soaps, preserves and biscuits.
Perhaps you agree with us that plants make an amazing gift? You have our gorgeous range of houseplants to choose from (many of which have been UK grown rather than imported), as well as seasonal outdoor favourites such as Camellia 'Yuletide', Skimmas, Hellebores and Citrus.
We also have winter and Christmas themed cards, many from artists local to our area, as well as beautifully illustrated advent calendars to help you count down the days 'til Christmas.
