Today, 22 November 2023, Adalah, in cooperation with Arab48, is launching the Adalah Podcast, a new platform dedicated to exploring the legal battles that Adalah wages to protect and defend the rights of Palestinians, both Palestinian citizens of Israel and Palestinians living under Occupation in the OPT before the Israeli courts, state and military authorities. We are launching this podcast at this emergency time when Palestinians everywhere are under heavy attack, including the indiscriminate bombing and Israel’s war crimes in Gaza, rampant settler and military violence in the West Bank, and a state-run campaign of arrests, incitement, political persecution and silencing of Palestinian citizens of Israel.

We are proud to post the first four episodes of the Adalah Podcast – three in English and one in Arabic. These first episodes center around the escalating political persecution and a severe crackdown on the freedom of expression and protest for Palestinian citizens in Israel. This crackdown is the result of widespread and coordinated efforts between government offices, Israeli institutions, and far-right groups, all targeting Palestinian citizens who dare to express dissent against the military’s brutal attacks on Gaza.

"We cannot live with this total ban. It cannot become a precedent for the future. We must be creative in finding a way to break it and to challenge Israeli law," emphasizes Dr. Hassan Jabareen in Episode 2 of Adalah’s Podcast. In this episode, Jabareen discusses  the blanket ban imposed by the Israeli police on all political demonstrations by Palestinian citizens of Israel during the War on Gaza. 

Adalah Attorney Nareman Shehadeh Zoabi discusses  the current campaign of arrests against Palestinian citizens of Israel for their expressions on social media platforms in Episode 3 of Adalah’s Podcast. She describes brutal arrests of Palestinian citizens carried out in the middle of the night.  In some cases, the police then blindfolded the arrested persons  and posted photographs of them against the background of an Israeli flag for the purpose of humiliating them. 

“What we're seeing now is an arbitrary attack and the persecution of Palestinian students, citizens of Israel. We have more than 100 cases of students facing disciplinary procedures for posts on social media,” states Adalah Attorney Adi Mansour in Episode 4 of Adalah’s Podcast. This episode delves into the unprecedented punitive measures taken by Israeli academic institutions against Palestinian students for their social media activity against the War on Gaza.
