 Construction Update

Now that groundwork is complete for the season, the focus on site has shifted to putting up the walls.

The installation of walls is progressing quickly, with prefabricated wall assemblies being shipped from the prefab shop daily. The site crew has started with the northwest wing of the building, then will move to the southwest wing, followed by the northeast wing, and finishing with the southeast wing.

Along with the installation of walls, the site crew's focus over the next three weeks is finishing up the crawlspace. Once the walls are up, the site team will prioritize the roof installation.

 Site Visits

CYFN Staff visited the site on November 15, 2023. It was great to see the progress since our last visit when the concrete was being poured.

Grand Chief Peter Johnston visited the site on November 20, 2023. CYFN meets with the site crew once a month to connect directly with staff. CYFN has arranged for presentations and cultural knowledge holders to meet with staff as well.

Road closure update

The work on Casca Blvd is complete, no further street disruptions are anticipated on Casca Blvd.

Work on Eldorado Drive is complete for the 2023 season, as well, there are three planned street closures in summer of 2024 to complete the infrastructure install. Advance notice will be given when the work resumes in spring 2024.
