Final days to visit Praise House on campus

The Praise House project, led by artist Charmaine Minniefield and inspired by Rose Library materials, is in its final week on the Emory campus, and its stay has been extended. The temporary structure is open to the public at no charge Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., and the last day to visit is Dec. 15.

The Emory installation was part of a recent New York Times
article about the efforts to save and restore praise houses across the South.

The Praise House is located in front of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, 1660 N. Decatur Rd. in Atlanta, GA, 30322. Visitor parking is available at the Fishburne Parking Deck. (Photo credit: Stanchez Kenyata)

Great review for Crossroads exhibition

We were pleased to read an excellent review of our exhibition “At the Crossroads with Benny Andrews, Flannery O’Connor, and Alice Walker” in ArtsATL by Jerry Cullum, calling the exhibit “a monumental enterprise and an extraordinary exhibit.” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (subscription required) picked up the review also.

The exhibition is on view through May 18, 2024, in the Schatten Gallery on Level 3 of Emory’s Woodruff Library. Please note restricted hours during finals and that the library will be closed Dec. 22 – Jan. 1.
