Who-Ville Returns to TteS Arbour

Exciting news! Who-Ville is making a comeback at the Powwow Arbour this year. Stay tuned for updates on Instagram and Facebook, and we invite you to share your stories and pictures from your visits to Who-Ville.

To support Literacy in Kamloops, we kindly request either a new or gently used children's book or a small cash donation. Join us with an open mind and heart to experience Who-Ville and mingle with The Mayor of Whoville, his wife, the Grinch, Cindy-Lou, and Max the Dog. Create lasting memories as the original cartoon version of the Grinch plays on a large screen. Keep an eye out for the Grinch causing mischief around us. All books and cash donations directly benefit Literacy in Kamloops, and the experience lasts about half an hour.

Accessible Garbage Cart

Please ensure that your garbage cart is placed on the street by 6:30 am, as required by the solid waste bylaw. Make sure it is accessible to the truck with no obstructions and has a 1-meter clearance on all sides. Keep the lid closed with the garbage bagged inside, and do not place anything on top of the cart. During winter, avoid putting the cart on top of a snow plow pile, as the truck won't be able to reach it. In such cases, position the cart in front of the snow pile on the street. Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in non-pickup of garbage. The collection operator will record the address and time of the attempted pickup, and may take a photo for verification purposes. Kukwstsétsemc!

Bear Alert

There is recent unusual bear activity in our community, particularly along Kamloopa Road. The extended presence of bears at this time of winter is due to the mild weather affecting their hibernation schedules. The bears are actively seeking food, posing potential safety concerns for our community. Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Natural Resources Department has been notified and is actively addressing this situation. Your safety is our priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in taking necessary precautions. Updates will be provided as TteS Natural Resources continues to work on resolving this matter.
