Happy holidays from Include a Charity

It’s been a sensational 12 months for Include a Charity. With your support, we’ve conducted more than a dozen successful webinars, training days and other events. We’ve funded important research with our partners at Bequest Assist, Legacy Future and More Strategic. The Taskforce has scored successes with the Productivity Commission submission, legal survey and the masses of PR coverage during the year. Collectively, we enjoyed a highly successful IAC Week campaign and Roadshow - not to mention the IAC One-Day Virtual Conference. We also welcomed even more new members to our campaign. Phew! We all deserve a massive pat on the back for our efforts to impact Gifts in Wills fundraising in 2023.

This Tuesday we had our Christmas networking event in Melbourne. We also met with members in Sydney at the new FIA office in St Leonards on Thursday. It was wonderful to catch up with some of our members and hear about the amazing impact your organisations have been making and plans and ideas for the future.

Enjoy some of the photos from the events below.

As we head into the end of year break, we’d like to wish all of you a very relaxing and enjoyable festive season. Thank you for being part of this special Include a Charity community and we look forward to the year ahead.

Gratefully yours,

Helen & Audrey

2024 IAC Calendar

We anticipate 2024 to be an exciting year for Include a Charity and the Gifts in Wills sector.

We have big plans, with new events every month including webinars, training days, and of course our annual IAC Week and One Day Conference.

There are also some fabulous research pieces in the mix and development of partnerships, government advocacy and legal sector collaboration.

We’ll also be visiting every state this year, either for our NEW state check-ins or as part of the IAC Roadshow in September. Be sure to mark these dates in your calendar so you don’t miss out.

Register for the 2024 Kick-Off Webinar

We’re going to start 2024 off with renewed vigour at our kick-off webinar. We’ll be going through the Include a Charity Strategy Plan for 2024 and reflecting on responses, views and ideas from the annual member survey we ran in recent weeks. Thank you to those who completed the survey.

We’ve fed thoughts and suggestions from many sources into the calendar mix to ensure we’re delivering as much as we can to all our members throughout 2024 and beyond. We’ll talk through training topics, research projects, events, state check-ins, partnerships and more at this webinar so it’s really one you won’t want to miss to help you kickstart your year. Register now so it’s in your diary.

IAC Taskforce heads for a win

The Include a Charity Taskforce has been working tirelessly behind the scenes for 18 months now. Among other things, this working group aims to effect change to government policy and develop behavioural change for the Australian public to leave a gift in their Will, and to encourage more solicitors to make the suggestion during the will-writing process. We submitted a Part B (bequests) proposal to the FIA’s submission to the Commission last May and the draft report was released a few weeks ago. One of the quick wins, if it is sanctioned early next year, will be to separate bequest revenues from general fundraised income to the ACNC (Australian Charities and NFPs Commission). This will really help the Gifts in Wills sector to record accurate data to assist with growth. A great result…

2024 Fundraising Conference

Over seven hundred people have already registered for the 2024 FIA Conference, and it’s easy to see why. The Fundraising Conference is an integral part of FIA’s annual professional development education program and remains the largest gathering of fundraisers in the southern hemisphere.

Each year the conference program is designed to ensure that fundraisers get exposure of both core and up-to-date fundraising techniques, disciplines, trends and ideas. This year is no different — we’ve got a packed schedule of masterclasses, guest speakers and networking events lined up which you don’t want to miss.

The 2024 Conference will be held in Brisbane from 28 February – 1 March. Registrations are open now, and you can visit the website for more details and to see the full program.
