Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn will host a snowshoe lacing workshop Saturday, Jan. 27, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Learn the lacing pattern to complete your own pair of snowshoes in this hands-on workshop led by seasoned instructors. Work at your own pace to finish at least one snowshoe in class and be confident enough with the lacing pattern to continue at home if necessary.
Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, Dec. 27, at snowshoe-workshop.eventbrite.com. Space is limited.

| North Dakota Blue Book Launched
The biennial unveiling of the North Dakota Blue Book is the culmination of a two-year effort by the secretary of state’s office, other state employees, and volunteers to compile what Gov. Doug Burgum has called “a treasure trove of information about all things North Dakota.”
The 2023-2025 edition featured chapter provides an up-to-date overview of the state’s 60 state museums and historic sites.

| | Holiday Toys Through Time | Visit the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck Dec. 27-29 to experience and enjoy toys and games children would have received as gifts over the last century. Play with an electric train, tops, paper dolls, and jacks. Look through a View-Master, and try your hand at Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros. The toys will be available 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the State Museum hallway.

| | North Dakota Artist Featured in Museum Stores | | Bill Brien is a Lakota, Dakota, Chippewa, Metís digital artist. He draws inspiration from his wife, Geri Rei, who lost her fight to cancer in 2018. She is the namesake to his brand Bountiful Reis.
Each piece of art Brien designs brings healing as art explains what words cannot describe at that particular time.
Brien’s artwork and gift items are available at the museum stores located inside the ND Heritage Center, Bismarck, and the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center, Williston. A limited selection is available for purchase on the online store. |

| | Temporary Exhibit and Activity Highlight Role of Music in Lewis and Clark Expedition | Replicas of musical instruments connected to the Lewis and Clark Expedition will be featured with an exhibit and activity at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn Jan. 2-6, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Create your own expedition musical instruments between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Supplies will be provided. This bonus activity is free and included with your purchase of admission to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center.

| | “Fibers and Flavors” Scheduled at Former Governors’ Mansion | The Former Governors' Mansion State Historic Site in Bismarck will be hosting “Fibers and Flavors” Saturday, Jan. 13, 1-4 p.m.
Fiber craft enthusiasts, bring your crochet, knitting or preferred fiber craft projects to work on in the ambiance of the Former Governors’ Mansion. Share techniques and show off your snazzy stitches. The event is free, and Mexican hot chocolate and cookies will be served. All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.
