Hello Neighbors,

Over the past few weeks, we’ve witnessed the true essence of our community values through heartwarming events like turkey giveaways, community luncheons, and dinners. These acts of kindness aren’t just seasonal; they resonate throughout the year.

It has been particularly heartwarming to have Santa and Mrs. Claus in the 30th Ward to help bring holiday joy to children in the community. There are two more opportunities to come meet Santa and Mrs. Claus coming up, you can read about them in this newsletter!

In observance of the Holidays, our 30th Ward office will be closed on Monday, December 25th, and Tuesday, December 26th. We will resume our regular business hours on Wednesday, December 27th.

We wish you a joyful Holiday season and a fantastic New Year ahead! May this holiday season be filled with good times and great memories! Remember, our office remains at your service. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any local concerns—we’re here to support you in every way we can.

Out and About in the 30th Ward

The 30th Ward participated in events across the ward in December. Read on to see where we’ve been.

Holiday Celebrations at St. Stanislaus It was a festive good time at St. Stanislaus with the 25th District celebrating the holiday season with local seniors.

Chicago Public Schools - Alderwoman Cruz attended a round table where CEO Pedro Martinez spoke with a group of philanthropists regarding recent CPS gains including increased graduation rates, and improving reading/Math scores, and increased access to art programs. Alderwoman Ruth Cruz participated in the event to keep advocating for our kid's learning experience in our public schools!

La Casa Norte - Alderwoman Cruz visited La Casa Norte to learn more about their efforts to address homelessness in our communities.

GIPNA Wine and Cheese The Greater Independence Park Neighborhood Association hosted their annual wine and cheese tasting and it was très festive and fun.

Santa Claus Visits the 30th Ward! Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus took time out from their busy holiday schedules to visit the 30th Ward this past week with stops at The Dog Stop and Marvin Camras Elementary.

30th Ward at Work I am so proud of the work my team is doing to keep the 30th Ward clean and beautiful. Thank you to the various city departments and all the residents who let us know when something needs attention. Here are a few photos of the work that has been done recently!
