Happy New Year!
As we move swiftly into 2024, things will be quite busy. Pep band begins immediately with Green Band tonight (1/2).
Parent teacher conferences are on 4 evenings this month, and I am available for 3 of them. I will not be available on Thursday, January 11, as I will be traveling to Eugene for the OMEA Conference and All State events.
We have our Future Warrior concert on Wednesday, January 10 with the Sellwood and Hosford Advanced Bands. Our Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble will also be involved in this concert.
As the semester winds up, every class will be having a recital for our chamber groups that just got started in December. This will be the semester final, and students will be given plenty of opportunity during class to rehearse and get any needed assistance in preparation.
I am looking forward to a great finish to this school year as we head into our “festival season”. The continued effort and dedication I am seeing from the vast majority of students in the program is great to see.
I appreciate the support that comes from home to encourage these young musicians to continue to improve their skills (fundamentals) and musicianship (expression).
