Ready to join Becky serving our community and/or celebrating the life of Martin Luther King Monday, Jan 15th?

Monday, January 15th, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is a public holiday and an official day of service and celebrates the civil rights leader's life and legacy. Several of you have helped me celebrate and serve our community on this day in past years. We will be marching in the Dekalb NAACP Parade in the morning and volunteering with DeKalb Habitat for Humanity in the afternoon.

Marching for Justice - 22nd Dekalb NAACP Martin Luther King Parade

Celebrating MLK’s Life:

We will be marching for Justice in the DeKalb NAACP 22nd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. Meet at 9:00am at Chapel Hill Middle School, at 3535 Dogwood Farm Road, Decatur. Parade ends at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School, 3991 Snapfinger Road, Lithonia, GA. Parade Starts at 10:00am. Sign up HERE.

Serving the Community:

We had a great time last year clearing brush for a Habitat home!

We will be volunteering with DeKalb Habitat for Humanity from 12 - 4pm for a home repair project for a DeKalb senior or veteran. We hope to have 12 to 20 volunteers! If we have less than 8 volunteers, we will be merged in with another Habitat project repairing an existing home. Volunteers ages 12 to 17 are welcome, with parental approval.
