Before we bid farewell to 2023, we want to take a look back.
📷
This was a special anniversary year for LA2050, as we launched our 10th LA2050 Grants Challenge. We could not have made it this far without the support of our LA2050 community – our grantees, partners, friends, and social fam. Collective action and engagement have always been at the heart of our work, and 2023 was no exception. So, in that same spirit, we are sharing highlights from our year together. (We even awarded superlatives!)

You voted, we funded! During this year's LA2050 Grants Challenge, we asked Angelenos to vote for the issues that they care most about to receive funding. For the second year in a row, voters selected "housing & homelessness" as their top issue area overall.
We loved collaborating with this year's 140 LA2050 Youth Ambassadors! We are confident that their drive to make Los Angeles better for all will lead them to incredible futures. We look forward to launching our third cohort in 2024.

Our LA2050 Grants Challenge winners, of course! This year, we welcomed 42 new organizations into our network through our 2023 Grants Challenge. We also celebrated the accomplishments of last year's grantees as they wrapped up their time with us.
This honor goes to... our LA2050 pop-up voting booths! During the LA2050 Grants Challenge, we transported colorful voting booths to 11 iconic locations across LA. Each location featured special guests, giveaways, and activities – from a free treat at Randy's Donuts to market bucks at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market.

MOST LIKELY TO WIN AN OSCAR
🎥
Watch out, "Join the Movement" might sweep award season! This short film highlights three of our incredible grantees and celebrates all the LA2050 movement has accomplished. And, while an Oscar might be far-fetched, it did win Gold in the Telly Awards and Silver in the Shorty Impact Awards.
That's YOU, our LA2050 Community! This year, you showed up and showed out – whether casting 80,000 votes for the issues you cared or raising more than $24,000 for local nonprofits as part of our Giving Tuesday match. We could not do this work without you!
