MOTHER IN LAW GUITAR

I recently got an email from a former student with pics of a guitar that he built for his mother in law! You read that right, his mother in law! He must really want to stay on her good side! haha See below what he had to say about this guitar.

Hey Robbie,

I’m proud to report that I’ve finished the mother-in-law guitar - flamed black walnut back and sides with a Sitka spruce top. Overall, it looks and sounds great.
Thanks for helping to answer my questions along the way and for the shop time when I hit a couple of trouble spots. It was a great experience building a guitar in my own shop and I can’t wait to start the next one. I leveraged a lot of what I learned in the 6-day guitar building class in your shop last fall. I’m amazed how much I learned in that time and how much of the technique I was able to almost seamlessly apply. Check out some pics below…..hopefully they come through ok with good detail.

I finished the guitar in shellac using the French polish technique that you taught in the class. I obsessed over that process, can’t wait to tell you all about that sometime, LOL.
