A highlight of our fall semester was a visit to CITP from former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. Ardern was at Princeton for a fireside chat with journalist Razia Iqbal that was hosted by the School of Public and International Affairs. CITP researchers discussed their projects with Ardern during her visit.

Building the Society We Want: A CITP Conference

In this Freedom to Tinker research blog post, CITP Fellow Kevin Munger details a November 17 conference he organized that brought together scholars from law, math, psychology, politics, sociology, art, computer science, media and anthropology.

TECH TALKS

  • CITP graduate student Sayash Kapoor participated in a December 13 discussion about the risks, benefits, and policy implications of an open ecosystem for AI foundation models at an event held by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the Center for Democracy & Technology.
  • Kapoor was also the keynote speaker at the December 1 AI Governance Forum 2023. The title of his talk was Evaluating LLMs is a minefield
  • CITP Director Arvind Narayanan was a panelist at the December 14 Workshop on Race in the Public Sphere with Columbia University’s Associate Professor of Social Work Rob Eschmann. The event was hosted by Princeton's University Center for Human Values.
