Showcase our best for prospective students
Student Recruitment & Admissions is calling for participants for March Open House on Sunday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event aims to showcase our campus in the best light possible for offer holders and applicants alike.
Programming should focus on why students should accept an offer to UTM and demonstrate how your department's services support and enhance a student's campus experience. Possibilities:  
  • mock academic lecture
  • lab tour(s)
  • engaged demonstration 
  • mini program overview with student panel 
  • experiential learning opportunities
  • classroom demonstrations

Nominations for UTM administrative staff and librarian seats on the Governing Council, UTM Campus Council, UTM Campus Affairs & Academic Affairs Committees close Thursday (Jan. 18), at 5 p.m. 
Available positions:
  • UTM Campus Council: one librarian staff seat
  • UTM Campus Affairs Committee: one administrative staff seat (cannot be from existing units of VP Research and Mathematical & Computational Sciences) and one librarian seat
  • UTM Academic Affairs Committee: one administrative staff seat
  • Governing Council: one administrative staff seat

New home for Stores and Shipping
As of Jan. 12, the Stores and Shipping and Receiving (formerly in W.G. Davis Building) is located the new science building, NSB1054.

Fundraising successes in campus
  • The Orange Shirt Day fundraiser raised $34,000 to increase awareness about the intergenerational impacts of Residential Schools.The limited edition shirts were designed by UTM student artist MJ Singleton. Read more
  • The UTM Community donated 181 items of warm clothing and 38 non-perishable food items to Embrave Agency to End Violence through the Mitten Tree program. Learn more
  • Donors to the UTM Holiday Donation Drive for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel and York granted the holiday wishes of 150 Littles while raising $1,000 for families in BBBS programs. Learn more

Announcements
Dany Savard has accepted the position of interim chief librarian at U of T Mississauga for a seven-month term from 1 March to 30 September 2024. Savard  joined UTM as Associate Librarian, Collections and Research Services, in late 2022, stepping up quickly to become the interim deputy chief librarian shortly after that.
Paula Hannaford will begin research leave on March 1 after serving as interim chief librarian for the past year. Read more
