We Reached Our Giving Goal!

We set an ambitious end-of-year giving goal of $10,000. Thanks to your generous contributions, we not only met but exceeded that target! Your donations amounted to just over $42,000. Wow.

Every donation, no matter how small, made a significant impact in helping us achieve our goal. With your help, we can continue to provide resources and support to local farmers and community gardeners in Baltimore, promoting sustainable and equitable food production in our city.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed. We're off to an incredible start in 2024!

Nothing But A Man Film Screening

Join the Farm Alliance of Baltimore at the Charles Theatre for a special 60th-anniversary screening of Nothing But A Man, a criminally underseen masterpiece.

Immerse yourself in this captivating film that explores the complexities of love, identity, and racial tensions in the 1960s. Directed by Michael Roemer, this groundbreaking piece of cinema tells the story of Duff Anderson (Ivan Dixon), a young Black man passing through the South on a railroad crew who gets stopped in his tracks by a preacher’s daughter (singer Abbey Lincoln). A charming romance ensues, as well as a painstaking portrait of racism that’s lost none of its bite.

Enjoy a buffet dinner inspired by the church supper scene, prepared by Woodberry Kitchen, and listen to an hour of live jazz by the Brandon Woody Trio from 6-7 PM. The film will screen at 7 PM sharp (B&W, 99 min.)

One of the most honest and unique depictions of Black life in the early 60s, this film still resonates today. It also happens to be the favorite film of our Executive Director, Denzel Mitchell Jr.

Don't miss this opportunity to witness a cinematic gem that has left an indelible mark on the history of American cinema. Make your Monday night interesting.

Culturally Inclusive Crops Bring Nutrition,
Familiarity to Neighbors in Need

The Maryland Food Bank recently released an article about their Culturally Inclusive Crop (CIC) Program. This program aims to provide diverse communities with culturally relevant and familiar produce. As one of their local partners, we are proud to contribute to the program's success. We grow callaloo, fish peppers, okra, indigo, and calendula to provide not only sustenance but also a connection to cultural identity for Baltimore area recipients. Check out the full feature!
