All Hands: Friday, January 19 - Noon on Zoom
Changes to CDFI Certification

In December, the US Dept. of Treasury’s CDFI Fund released a revised CDFI Certification Application. Substantial modifications have been made to the Basic Information, Legal Entity, Primary Mission, Financing Entity, Target Market, Development Services, and Accountability sections of the application.

What does this mean for NYS CDFIs – existing or emerging?

Join us this Friday, January 19, for our first All Hands Zoom of 2024 as we welcome Amy Szabo, Chief Client Services Officer, Friedman Associates to provide an overview and answer your questions. Based in Iowa, F|A helps build and grow remarkably successful Community Development Financial Institutions to finance a more inclusive and equitable economy.

Amy has experience as a Development Director in building fund development, compliance, and organizational development capacity for a large CDFI; and has authored more than $50 million in successful grant proposals to the CDFI Fund, SBA, EDA, USDA and HHS.

We're still using the Zoom link from last year, so if All Hands is already on your calendar, you're all set! If not, please use this link to register:  https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAvf-ihrDooHtAooK6dLASgJfMqgir9Ijcp

We'll hope to see you at noon on Friday 1/19 - all hands on deck!

NYS CDFIs: Making it Possible
2024 Conference in Albany

In late March (exact date TBA), Community Development leaders from across New York State will gather in Albany for our 2024 conference, titled NYS CDFIs: Making it Possible. Our Keynote Event will be a conversation with the team behind another highly-anticipated publication, titled “What’s Possible: Investing Now for Prosperous, Sustainable Neighborhoods.”

Published by Enterprise Community Partners, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, this book will be the seminal text on community development and climate change. It features the expertise of 30 leading climate and community development experts who lay out the challenges communities of color and low-income communities face on the frontlines of climate change – and what can be done to fortify those communities. Funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation, the book will be available in early 2024.

Tickets will be available on our website starting February 1, with discounts for Coalition members and their colleagues.

Watch for the date confirmation and more info coming soon!
