Overculture tries to sell us on an aspirational version of ourselves that's about maximizing "potential." To this I say:
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS POTENTIAL.
THERE IS ONLY EMERGENCE.
Potential is the same performance-oriented, results-based urgency that’s separated you from the present moment.
Potential is a fantasy that shames the present moment.
Potential feeds on attachments and expectations, which bring you disappointment and grief.
Emergence Astrology wants to stop you from engaging so unkindly with yourself. Emergence Astrology wants to conspire with your wildest, weirdest dreams.

There is grief in letting go of the fantasy of potential. There is sadness in recognizing "that's not me."
Perhaps potential was supposed to be the thing that kept you safe. The assurance that you're special in the eyes of God, your parents, whoever.
I have found it to be true that there is no safety in the future. Safety can only be created in the present.
Grieving the death of your potential self will open the way for more self-love in present time.
This grief has information for helping you love yourself. What would it be like to stop hustling for whatever it is you thought your potential was going to get you?
The death of an illusion brings liberation. Liberation is what truth brings us. As the rubble of distortion clears, you begin to see pathways for unforeseen possibilities.
This is what we seed the year with: possibilities for liberating change clear of distortions rooted in shame!
I do not make resolutions! I draw my dreams down from the astral plane and plant them in the loamy soil of this timeline.
