2023 IN REVIEW

We find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey we've undertaken together towards achieving quality healthcare for all Nigerians. And it is with great pleasure and gratitude that we present to you our "Recap of the Year 2023" – a snapshot of the impactful moments, shared triumphs, and collective efforts that have defined our mission to realize equitable and affordable healthcare for all.

The PSHAN Periscope (2nd Edition)

The fact that 5 of 1000 Nigerian women die while delivering their babies is frightening.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently revealed that Nigeria accounts for over 34% of global maternal deaths.

The PSHAN Periscope is a bi-annual health webinar series that seeks to conduct powerful conversations that address problems in the Nigerian healthcare industry by hearing insights from outstanding individuals in the healthcare and business spaces.

Africa Business Convention

We heard our MD/CEO, Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe loud and clear at the 2023 Africa Business Convention as she spoke extensively on the need for custom-made solutions tailored to solve Africa’s unique problems.

Insightful debates around the prevailing challenges confronting the health sector in Africa are exactly what we need to create awareness and provide sustainable solutions.

We sincerely thank Business Day Nigeria for making #ABC2023 a successful event and look forward to more opportunities to make business leaders, governments, policy makers, investors, and entrepreneurs tackle the problems facing the healthcare system in Africa.

PharmAccess Launch of the Nigeria Health Sector Market Study Report

Pharm Access in collaboration with the Netherlands Consulate successfully launched the Nigeria Health Sector Market Study Report in the presence of several personalities grounded in the healthcare, government and business sectors.

The Report is a follow-up to the market study conducted in 2015, by the Dutch Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria, also in association with PharmAccess Nigeria. The study's goal is to establish strong working partnerships, collaboration, and investments between Dutch Life-Science-Health (LSH) businesses and Nigerian health market players in the public and private sectors.

The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria applauds the efforts of Pharm Access and the Netherlands Consulate to bridge the dearth of information and encourage innovation for better healthcare practices.

International Womens’ Day

In commemoration of the 2023 International Women's Day, the women at the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) lent their voices to champion the cause of gender equality and empowerment. VHAN Endline Report

Vaccination coverage and programmes in Nigeria have continued to suffer setbacks in spite of various interventions. We believe that the key to addressing this issue rests in proper study and research which are crucial to understanding the reasons behind vaccine hesitancy and finding effective ways to counter it.

The Endline Report on Vaccine Hesitancy Assessment in Nigeria discussed the findings from a focus study done in 3 states in Nigeria (Lagos, Kano and FCT).

SYNLAB Cervical Screening Project

Cervical cancer continues to disproportionately affect underserved populations and those with limited access to healthcare. Promoting cervical cancer screening programs like that organized by Synlab Nigeria, can help bridge the gap in health equity by ensuring that all women have access to the same preventive measures and healthcare services.

We were glad to have been a part of the Synlab screening project and look forward to more collaborations for quality healthcare in Nigeria.

Cervical cancer screening is of paramount importance for women's health and the overall well-being of society. It not only saves lives by detecting cancer early but also prevents the disease from occurring in the first place through vaccination and education.
