Q1 2024

Happy New Year!

Well, I properly updated the date to the current year, so I'm already winning!
We all hope your December, Holiday Season, Sale Season, etc went smoothly. Yesterday I put my studio back to working condition after a month of sale hours and I'm firing the first glaze kiln of 2024 today.

Workshop announcement:
I'm excited to announce we are offering a business education workshop on the topic of Accounting with CPA Valerie Moseley on the evening of Wednesday January 24th.
(details below)

This is an event for members. Registration is required and will open on 1/10/24. The link to register will be sent to members at that time.
Members will be able to submit questions prior to the Zoom workshop. If you are unable to attend, we'll offer a password protected link to view the video for a limited time after the event.

Poster:
We received many (possibly a record number) photos for the annual poster. This is in design phase and will likely be ready for printing and distribution in February. I'm hoping to increase the number printed this year as we decreased the number the last few years.
We'd love to establish an ongoing list of locations for distribution. Please let us know if you would like to be on our list.

Pullman:
We will have a community social at Terracotta in Pullman on June 15th. If you would like to help plan the event please reach out.

Engagement:
I appreciate folks for reaching out with interest to collaborate and help WCA engage with its members and the clay community. I'm always open to a conversation!

Wishing you a year of successful firings!

-Laura Souyoultzis
 WCA President

Registration opens January 10th

In this workshop, Valerie Moseley will introduce a framework for understanding your Federal Income taxes as an artist. We'll walk through the federal income tax return, pointing out areas that are specific to artists as well as touching on important items that apply to everyone, hitting key tax concepts along the way.
