Monsieur Gerbais has just released a new series of non-vintage bottlings that are indeed based on single vineyard parcels and single varietals, for which he started for each cuvée dedicated soleras of perpetual reserve wines, with the earliest created as far back as 2011 in anticipation of launching these new single vineyard bottlings. While I was in Beaune in December I had a chance to taste the entire range of these new wines and they were exceptional in quality across the board...There are currently four distinct single vineyard bottlings in his lineup: Champ Viole (made from one hundred percent chardonnay), La Loge (made from pinot blanc), Bochot (made from pinot meunier) and les Grandes Côtes (made from pinot noir). 95 points Wine Advocate: “The NV Extra-Brut Les Grandes Côtes derives from Pinot Noir planted in a north-facing site, matured as a perpetual reserve spanning the 2011-2018 vintages. Wafting from the glass with aromas of peach, orange oil, pear, beeswax and fresh bread, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and ample, with a fleshy core of perfumed fruit animated by a pillowy mousse, concluding with a long, aromatic finish."

It's produced from 80-year-old Pinot Blanc vines in a south-facing site and derives from a solera spanning the 2011-2018 vintages."
