Sunday Service

Justice for All

Sunday, February 4th
10:30am
Join us in person or Zoom!

We talk of justice as a core value, but whose justice are we addressing? Modern liberatory theologies challenge many of the traditional theologies we are comfortable with. We will explore this today.

Second Sunday Potluck
Sunday, Feb. 11th after the morning worship service. Bring a dish that will serve 5 or more people, along with your own plates and silverware. Come join this time of casual connection with each other. And please let Melissa Ahern know if you can help with set-up or clean-up.

Pub Theology

Join us Saturday, February 10th at 6pm in Kirkland Urban Chainline Brewery.  We will be discussing evil. This event has been postponed twice already, which may indicate the topic is troublesome. Please RSVP - I need 3 people to commit to being there, please! nreidmckee@northlakeuu.org

Share-the-Plate

Our Share-the-Plate program is our church donating up to $1000 of undesignated funds to an identified group each month. This February, our Share-the-Plate recipient will be Lake Washington United Methodist Church Safe Parking.  We have invited a representative from LWUMC Safe Parking program to come to Northlake on February 4th to introduce their ministry. For more information on LWUMC Safe Parking you can visit their Brochure and/or their Gratitude Report.

Creative Circle: Water Challenge

Reach out to Mary De Friel, mary@defriel.com, for more information.

Making Good Trouble

Faced in a time of rising fascism and Christian Nationalism, we must attend to our democracy. These next few months we are hosting a series of workshops and events to keep us aware and united in our work. Please join us! And if you might be interested in planning vigils, rallies or workshops, please let Rev. Nancy know!

Sunday, Feb. 18th  11:45-1:00 10 Tactics of Fascism. We will watch a 10 minutes video from Jason Stanley about fascism. If you have time beforehand to read his book How Fascism Works, that would be good, but this video gives an overview of his major points. We will follow with a discussion.
Sunday, March 3 & 17th 2 part workshop with CB Beale identifying Christian Nationalism. If you have time to read Tim Alberta's book The Kingdom, The Power and the Glory beforehand, it would be a good introduction to these workshops.
