2024 NYS CDFI CONFERENCE
NYS CDFIs: Making It Possible
March 25-26 in Albany

Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) are uniquely positioned to support and sustain efforts to address urgent climate needs in their communities.

On March 25-26, Community Development leaders from across New York State will gather in Albany for our 2024 conference, titled NYS CDFIs: Making it Possible. Our Keynote Event will be a conversation with the team behind the highly-anticipated publication, titled “What’s Possible: Investing Now for Prosperous, Sustainable Neighborhoods.” The book draws on the expertise of 30 leading climate and community development leaders who lay out the challenges facing communities on the front lines of climate change.

Our Keynote Panel welcomes three of those experts and will be moderated by an award-winning environmental justice advocate. Together, they will discuss the charge to create climate-resilient neighborhoods, the practical aspects of ensuring that clean energy is affordable at the family level, and the important role that Community Lenders can play in making it all possible. Published by Enterprise Community Partners, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the book will be available this spring.

The conference will also feature the very latest developments on CDFI Certification and Federal and New York State funding for CDFIs. We hope you will make plans to join us!

Please note - the link for discounted rooms at the Marriott is not yet live on our website conference page. We'll post that just as soon as we receive the email from the host hotel.

Help Set the Agenda for the 2024 Conference!

On our last All Hands Zoom of 2023, we asked our members to share some areas where they needed additional information and support to be successful.

Help us develop the agenda for our 2024 statewide conference by telling us what topics are of special interest to you!

Please note that not all of these topics may be addressed at the conference, but may lead to an All Hands Zoom or other online presentation or discussion.

Did You Miss the 1/19 All Hands Zoom?

Last month, the US Dept. of Treasury’s CDFI Fund released a revised CDFI Certification Application. Substantial modifications have been made to the Basic Information, Legal Entity, Primary Mission, Financing Entity, Target Market, Development Services, and Accountability sections of the application. What does that mean to you?

To help us sort through the changes, we welcomed Amy Szabo, Chief Client Services Officer, Friedman Associates. Based in Iowa, F|A helps build and grow remarkably successful Community Development Financial Institutions to finance a more inclusive and equitable economy.

Her contact info is pasted below in case you have questions.
