3P Learning Donation |
We are proud to be a recipient of 3P Learning's Giving Back Program. The program provides financial support to international charitable organizations in 4 tiers. iSisters was one of three charities recognized for a financial award for Tier 4 - workplace giving - to support important charities around the world. Thank you to 3P for recognizing the work we do! |

OAC Job Fair |
On November 30, iSisters staff attended the Ottawa Aboriginal Coalition (OAC) Job Fair where over 40 employers were on hand, including our valuable partner Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) Centre. In addition to providing resources and workshops for job seekers, the event was a great opportunity for iSisters to connect with potential partners to extend the reach of our programs in the community. |

New Communications Director |
We are pleased to welcome Aylin Sel Gul as the new volunteer Director of Communications for iSisters. She brings some very impressive credentials to her role. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Geological Engineering, Master of Science, and MBA and most recently, a Brand Management Post-Graduate Certificate (Honours List). Her analytical skills, dedication, and commitment to iSisters will serve this role well. |

AFMC Donation |
We would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) for their recent donation of laptops, projectors and screen to iSisters. They are already being put to good use to the benefit of our instructors and learners. Thank you! |

Holiday Volunteering |
In December, our amazing Program Manager Erin Keeley-Messier generously volunteered her time for the Christmas lunch hosted by Belong Ottawa, one of our valued partners. It was a great opportunity to see their work up close, and made for a very meaningful day. Thank you Erin! |
Alliance to End Homelessness Event |
On January 16, iSisters staff attended a live panel discussion hosted by the Alliance to End Homelessness around Finland's success in effectively tackling homelessness, and ideas on how Canada could adopt the same model. A free recording of the event is available here.
The event took place nearly four years after Ottawa declared a Housing and Homelessness Emergency. Confronting this crisis demonstrates a commitment to the well-being and empowerment of the vulnerable women populations we serve. |

Algonquin College Brand Management Project |
iSisters is pleased to have been chosen as a client of the Brand Management Program at Algonquin College. Students in the program will be responsible for creating a fundraising campaign for iSisters later this year, with the goal of raising our public profile. We look forward to working closely with them in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates! |
