Volunteer Activation Mini-Grants

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY 📣

LA2050 is preparing to launch our 11th Grants Challenge in April, and we need your help!

We are looking for 12 organizations to host a range of volunteer activations around LA County from April 2nd to May 8th, during our 2024 Grants Challenge voting period.

The events will provide Angelenos with meaningful opportunities to impact the issues that matter most to them, as a complement to their online votes.
We are looking for engaging events with space for at least 20 volunteers and limited barriers to participation.

Each of the selected organizations will receive a $5,000 grant.

Applications are open now through February 28th at 5:00 pm.

Want to learn more? Register for our virtual information session on February 8th at 11:00 am.

2024 YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Youth Ambassadors
Applications are open now for our third LA2050 Youth Ambassador cohort.

Do you know any young Angelenos (ages 14 to 24) who are passionate about making a positive impact on our region? Encourage them to apply!

LA2050 Youth Ambassadors will learn about the social impact landscape in LA, participate in one or more of this year's volunteer activations, and play a crucial role in LA2050 Grants Challenge outreach. Last year, our second cohort of 140 Youth Ambassadors engaged 3,000+ Angelenos in voting.

And, the cherry on top: the two participants who reach the most voters will each win $500 – a $250 Visa gift card and $250 to donate to the nonprofit organization of their choice.

My favorite Los Angeles places and spaces...
PLAY: When I want to get some sun and a work out I head up Laurel Canyon to Fryman Canyon Park for a hike.

CREATE: When I set my alarm and get up early on Sundays instead of pressing snooze, I like to stroll through the Studio City Farmers Market and then get a double scoop of ice cream from Salt and Straw on Ventura Blvd.

CONNECT: I love to connect with my friends at sushi restaurants along Ventura Blvd in Studio City. Places such as Asanebo, Katsu-Ya, and Sugarfish are all amazing for a great night out. I also connect with my neighborhood by voting in local elections at the Faith Presbyterian Church in North Hollywood.

LEARN: I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and have always made use of their libraries. Especially the Buena Vista Branch Library in Burbank where I would rent books, audio books, and movies with my grandma.

LIVE: I have a great time visiting the botanical gardens at The Huntington in San Marino.
