Gardner Market
Students Prepare for Market Day
Our K-6 students are hard at work getting ready for next month's Gardner Market event!  Budding scientists Ruby and Fiona from our Loowit classroom are using chemistry, following directions, exercising patience, and managing inventory to create beautiful handmade soaps.  Come to the Gardner Market on February 26th at 2:00pm to purchase these products and many more directly from our Gardner Entrepreneurs!

Students can choose to donate 50% or 100% of their profits to our chosen non-profit organization, Vancouver Bee Project.
SnowBall Coming This Friday!

As they say, the Snow must go On!   After being delayed due to our Wild Winter Weather, the SnowBall is gearing up to be even bigger and better!  We have over 90 RSVPs so far, and expect a campus full of fun, food, and friends!  Students are welcome to dress up in whatever makes them feel special, but it's not required.

Drop off for the event will start at 5:00 pm.  Check in will be in the main lobby, so please walk your child in, and if any older siblings are attending, you'll be asked to turn in their waiver so we have all the relevant details. The waivers have been sent out in the FACTS portal, but we'll have available copies at drop off, too.

Dinner is between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Note - students will be eating spaghetti! Consider this as you help your child pick an outfit for the evening!  Tumtum and Mazama students will be eating in Mazama, the remainder of our students will be eating in Science and the portables.

Dancing and other classroom activities will take place in the Main Building between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The dance floor opens to parents starting at 7:30, too, so come and boogie down with the rest of us!

Pick up is anytime before 8:00 pm, and we appreciate on time pick ups so our staff can get home, too!
Learning in Action

Our Mazama students read their first fairytale in their "Science of Fairytales" thematic, “Ninja Red Riding Hood," a rewrite of the fairytale “Little Red Riding Hood” that is a little more age appropriate as the wolf is defeated by Red and her Grandma’s super karate skills!

Through this fairytale, students explored the 6 senses which are: smell, sight, touch, sound, taste, and proprioception. They conducted a taste test with marshmallows, pretzels, and lemons and the children determined which ones were sweet, spicy, and sour. The kids had the most entertaining reactions to sour!
