Community Opportunity Postings

  • The Microsoft Africa Research Institute (MARI) is looking for a Machine Learning PhD Intern to join the team to work in the space of AI and equity for Africa. Applicants must be currently pursuing or recently have completed a PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science or a related field. This internship will be full time position for 6 months, located in Nairobi, Kenya, starting in May/June 2024.


  • Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI) is looking for a Business Development and Partnerships Leads to lead the next phase of their growth, as they look to further diversify their funding modes and streams, as well as grow uptake and investment of open infrastructure by institutions and funders globally. Applications close on 12 February 2024.


  • Harvard University’s Arts and Humanities Research Computing group, a small but growing team focused on supporting digital humanities research for faculty in the Arts and Humanities division, is looking for a Software Engineer to build, maintain, and support web-based faculty research projects. They are considering applications on a rolling basis, but apply by February 20 for best consideration.


  • The Data Analytics program at Denison University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor for a one-year term, commencing in August 2024. They seek to hire an individual from one of the many disciplines that are representative of the applied, interdisciplinary nature of Data Analytics. Applications received by 23 February 2024 will receive full consideration.


  • Two Postdoctoral Fellowships available with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to support the big data, computational needs of the Salmonella Grand Challenge project whose goal is to integrate research from across the agency’s labs to determine how and where Salmonella causes the highest risk to meat and poultry products. Fully remote option available. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until 17 May 2024.
