🌱 In 2023, AACHI served 289 clients & their families.
🌱 Through our assistance, 95.37% of our Travis county clients have received or maintained health coverage.
🌱 We assisted with 70 applications for the Medical Access Program (MAP).
🌱 Our Community Health Navigators (CHNs), helped with 107 applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
🌱 AACHI provided transportation to 80 clients in 2023.
🌱 In collaboration with the Austin Equity Office, we distributed fifty $50 gift cards to clients in need.
🌱 We implemented image descriptions to AACHI's social media posts for folks using screen readers & are working on retroactively adding alt text to our past posts.
🌱 AACHI's Therapist Directory includes 33 Asian Texan mental health professionals & the network continues to grow.

Our Clients
🌸 80% of clients reported they had Limited English Proficiency (LEP)
🌸 60% reported experiencing one or more chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, & depression.
🌸 30% of clients reported feeling worried about not having stable housing
🌸 Since April 2023, AACHI Community Health Workers have reached 261,118 touch points across the Arabic, Burmese, Korean, Nepali, Hindi, & Vietnamese speaking communities using culturally appropriate messaging strategies to share up to date COVID-19 & immunization educational materials.
🌸 AACHI has coordinated or partnered to host five community vaccine clinics and pop-ups that have resulted in 234 vaccinations, including COVID-19, flu, shingles, HEP A + B HPV, MMR, PCV, Tdap, Dtap, IPV, MCV, and Varicella.
🌸 Access to transportation is still a top barrier for our client populations.

“When I first started my CHW job 2.5 years ago, most providers did not know about CHW jobs. Recently, I found that more providers in clinics & hospitals are recognizing Community Health Workers. |
AVAMPS Health Fair (10/7/23) - AACHI tabled at the 23rd annual AVAMPS health fair which provides immunizations, health screenings, & education. In partnership with Truc Viet, we provided health education, PPE, & voter registration help.

|
Walk-In Flu Shot Event for Korean community (10/26/23) - Part of our annual fall immunization clinics, we served 28 attendees & successfully administered 28 free flu shots.

|
Vaccine Event for Vietnamese, Burmese, Nepali communities (10/29/23) - A walk-in event at AACHI with language interpretation. Also part of our annual immunization clinics, we had 53 attendees receive their flu and/or updated COVID-19 vaccines.

Community Vaccine Event at Chùa Linh Son (12/9/23) - In partnership with AVAMPS, AACHI helped 49 attendees receive flu, COVID-19 vaccines, & vision screenings provided by Open Eyes Beyond Border.
